New Year, Same Me

It's only January 4th and I am literally OVER hearing about people's so called New Year's Resolutions. Every year it's the same thing. People have a horrible year and make a million mistakes they have not learned from and then for one day (and in some cases only the last 4 hours of December 31st), they have a revelation that was overlooked all year but is now suddenly so important to honor. And why? I really am starting to think that people just like the idea of change without having to actually make it.

I say that to say, I too have been one of the frustrated New Year's Resolution violators and have come up with my fair share of bogus dieting regimens to insane budgets that consist of tuna sandwiches every day all day for an entire year with the ambition to save money to buy a $3000 a month Pent House Loft in Center City by the late spring and to have purchased my Pomeranian whom I'd name Palm[ Don't judge me ] . At 11:59 PM on New Year's Eve I was the most focused and positive individual to be around- and that may last all the way up to 11:59 PM January 1st. However, when January 2nd hits the only thing I'm positive about is that I won't follow my resolution and that's if I haven't broken it already.

Or maybe you're the person who will look up next year round and criticize because you have not accomplished the resolution you set for yourself.  Does it make you a bad person that you didn't follow through with a promise to your own SELF? No... BUT it doesn't make you look or feel good either. I've been the regretful chick too..

All I'm saying is don't be a fugitive on the most wanted list and make a resolution like you're going to travel to NY City to see the ball drop. That's just setting yourself up for failure. The resolution for that person should be something more reasonable that you know you can do, like traveling the country for the next year while also attempting to duck the police. #IJS.

Maybe I'm just thinking too much today but I'm starting to realize how much pressure we all put on ourselves with this New Year's Resolution. I mean, we could at least make it a little easier if the goals we set were achievable. It 's almost always good to be an over achiever, almost being the keyword; and the New Year being the one exception.
